The Bioluminati Pendant Project 2011

The Bioluminati Pendant, cast in pure silver from a hand-carved wax master, with a black leather cord.
These pendants will be the made from the same molds, and finished to match earlier editions.

Available to Bioluminati Campers & Close Friends ONLY.

• All orders must be in by JULY 15th in order to have time for the Jeweler to do his jeweler thing.
• As pieces are made to order, there are no refunds.
• All Pendants will be delivered directly to you by me on Playa.
  • If you are unable to pick it up yourself,
    • please let me know as soon as possible who is to collect it for you,
    • and make sure they know to come assert to me their important role and get the pendant for you asap.
    • It's better this way: I would rather gift uncollected Pendants to a camper on playa than bring them back for someone who did not actually make it. Pls talk to me if you need exceptions to this exceptional rule.
    • So if you can successfully arrange an agent, I am good with that, otherwise they will be gifted in your name.

A note from our Jeweler: "Silver is at about $35 - $40 per ounce (depending on the day). That's up from about $20 per ounce last year."

And here's a Playa story for you…

“The pendant saved my life. I received it at Critical Mass, the WA regional, from a man who I plied with stories and champagne one sweet Sunday morning.” (Random Editor: That would be our Jeweler, He had just made the very first ones for us, and was wearing one to raise awareness of his skills and his offering to make such fine things for the community. I had not even seen the finished item at this point…)

“Being an evolutionary ecology science major, as well as a burner AND biker, I wore the pendant regularly, and got lots of compliments on it. A year later, I was at another regional across the country- Playa del Fuego, another sweet early morning, laying in a dog pile of friends on a large round swing. We were spinning and joking and staring at the sky, when we spun the swing one spin too far, and the whole thing came crashing down on us.”

“The swing was enormous, big enough to hold 10 people, and the hinge, at least 15, pounds fell from 10 feet up directly onto my chest. It felt like a giant had kicked me right in the sternum. All the air was knocked out of me, and when I managed to get up I found my whole chest bruised so badly I couldn't raise my arms and could barely talk…for days. But the pendant, which the day before had been flat, was now irrevocably curved right through the center- bent, not broken- and its imprint embossed on my flesh in angry red lines. The Bioluminati pendant took almost all of the blow. I still cannot bend it back to this day, and cannot imagine how many of my fragile bones would have broken had it not been there to shelter me.
